Friday 17th
We left Chang Sha and flew to Guangzhou. It is tropical
and so green. We are in heaven after all the cold. It
looks like it will stay in the 70’s and 80’s. All the girls
did great on the flight. It was Mia’s first plane ride…she
was a dream! The locals were fascinated by the girls in
both airports. Many people come up to us and watch them.
They are very curious….we rarely saw a child at both
airports and they kept asking “girls”??? Several people
came up to touch Mia’s foot or to point at it…not sure if
they were just curious…sometimes hard with the language
barrier.
Our adoption agency
was not too excited to have children come along. The girls
have been great overall. It is funny because Caroline was
about to meet the only employee in China that our agency
has. She went to get out of the airport van in the front of
the hotel. Suddenly she started screaming horribly and we
could not figure out what was wrong. It turns out someone
had closed the front door with her finger in it. She was in
so much pain that she could not tell us. A guest outside
the van realized it and opened the door after almost a
minute. This is how she met our guide, Frank who was trying
to help her out of the van! Fortunately her finger is
fine.
