Saturday 18th
We met our group
today. They are all very nice. Each family is adopting a
child with special needs. One family is adopting a 2 year
old girl with a repaired cleft lip and a palate. Another
family is adopting a 3 year old girl with a repaired hole in
her heart. A single Mom is adopting a 4 year old boy with a
repaired cleft lip. They are all so cute! Our agency had
another group arriving next week that is adopting 6 healthy
babies.
Brad’s parents have
been so helpful and the girls are so excited to be with
them. Mia is blossoming more each day and is the sweetest
little baby. She loves to be held and holds on tight. She
is always snuggling on our shoulder, sitting smiling at us
or our favorite…giving sweet kisses! Caroline and Sarah
held her last night and for the first time she did not cry.
They all giggled together and had the best time…such fun!
We spent the
day walking around an amazingly beautiful park. Nice to
see so many local families walking around together. The
girls loved feeding the fish and their Gram and Grandpa
bought them bubbles…a huge hit. Mia slept the morning
away in Brad’s arms. What a life!
We went out
for Chinese for lunch and dinner. The food is
definitely better here and Caroline is getting her fix
of dumplings. Mia is a great eater and had eaten almost
everything we have given her. Such an easy way to try
things when you have a buffet or 10 dishes brought to
your table. Sarah loves going to the potty in every
Restaurant…not fun since all of the bathrooms are squat
potties. The first time she saw one she said “now this
is different”! Sarah is having a hard time deciding if
she wants to be the big sister or be my baby. She
waffles back and forth so I am trying so spend extra
time with her. She asked me to put her to sleep in the
rocking cradle last night. When I did she started
crying (it was way too small for her legs) and said she
wanted to be a big girl and sleep in her bed!
