Surgery Update 7/1/06
Mia
has been doing so well today. Her progress is far beyond
what we expected.
The
IV tube is gone and Mia's appetite has returned. We are
getting her back in the process of eating real food again.
She has been eating a lot of Grilled Cheese sandwiches, peas and
fruit. We are also having her drink a lot of fluids.
She is doing great.
Her
pain has been very well controlled. She is on oral pain
medicine, which is an important step to getting her home.
Speaking of going home, it looks like we may be going home
either Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning. The doctor
feels she is doing very well. While it would be great to
get her home, we want to make sure that her little body is
really prepared to make the transition.
Caroline and Sarah are back with us again. Holly's parents
drove the girls down to Cincinnati after a vacation with their
cousins. It was so good to see them again. We really
missed them. They will be spending a lot of time with
Brad's parents who are visiting from Texas. They have
plans to visit the aquarium and the zoo. Sounds like
fun!!!
Without the support and prayers of our friends and family, we
know this would have been so much more difficult. We
appreciate everyone who has lifted us in their thoughts and
prayers. A special thank you to all who have had the
opportunity to come visit us at the hospital. It has meant
so much to see familiar faces bringing joy to the hospital room.
